Some basic understandings

The editor of this site believes that some of the truths expressed in the Bible are:

The Bible is the Word of God;

       The universe was created as described in the book of Genesis, with the over-riding truth that the days were not 24 hour days but were periods of time, of undefined length, similar to but not identical with Ezekiel 4:6: "... I have appointed thee each day for a year"; and 2 Peter 3:8: "But beloved be not ignorant of this one thing that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day";

 Adam deliberately erred and was sentenced to death (Genesis 2:16-17; 3:6);

      Adam's death sentence was inherited by all his progeny (Romans 5:12)

 JESUS CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD and came to earth and died on the Cross to release mankind from the death sentence ( Romans 5: 15-17;  1 Timothy 2:5-6).

        The planet earth will be restored to its former glory (Isaiah 35);

   The whole world of mankind will be resurrected to enjoy eternal life on the restored earth, provided they are obedient to God's laws at that time (Acts 24:15);

Currently GOD is calling a small group who are His church, the groups of whom are known only by the name of the location where they live (Revelation 2:1 - 3:14);

The time when Jesus will set up His kingdom on the earth is "near", as Jesus told His disciples: "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand" (Luke 21: 25-31)
