  ISRAEL AND

                                THE MIDDLE EAST

The Middle East is the area of the world which has perplexed the
leaders of the most powerful nations to a greater extent than any
  other area.

They have devoted many resources to solving the conflict between Israel and the occupants of Palestine.

Ex-President Bush and current President Barak Obama frequently send their Secretary of State to the Middle East in the hope of devising a “peace plan”.

Upon his resignation from parliament, ex-British P.M. Tony Blair took up the role of “envoy to the middle east”.

Yet conflict continues: Gaza continues to fire several rockets each month into the land of Israel.

And now several nations are concerned about the prospect of a nuclear Iran.  Iran has declared its intent to annihilate Israel.  Israel is within range of Iran’s latest long range missile, which might soon (if not already) have the capacity to carry a nuclear weapon.  Israel already has nuclear weapons.  The possibility of a nuclear catastrophe is real.

Will Israel survive?indeed can Israel survive?  The current fledgling nation is not yet 64 years old--its 64th. anniversary will be on May 14, 2012.  (Although it has existed and been devastated several times in the distant past; its founder being Jacob, the grandson of Abraham, whose name God changed to Israel and whose 12 sons were the fathers of the 12 tribes of Israel.)
